Tattoo Artist & Manager Position - Urgent

ZEALAND TATTOO LTD is a well-established, progressive Custom Design Studio that operates in Hanmer Springs, Christchurch and Queenstown. Trading Since 1991.

We are a Custom Design Studio that specializes in timeless tattoo art styles; Everything we do is designed for the individual, making all our artwork original. We take great pride in producing hand-crafted, authentic Maori / Polynesian / Japanese tattoos and pioneering cutting-edge fusion blended styles such as Maori / Japanese - Maori /Polynesian tattoos and a full range of all modern tattoo genres.

Demand for our work is at an all-time high and we require professional, business-minded and capable tattoo artists. 

Successful Artists will have a studio management/administration background and the capacity to achieve high-quality tattoos with superb customer service, growing the brand year-on-year by reaching sales targets.

TATTOO ARTIST / STUDIO MANAGEMENT ROLES

PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR HANMER SPRINGS

Role Pre-Requisites Include, But Not Limited To:

MANAGEMENT SKILLS

• 5-Star customer service, art consultation, and sales ability
• Managing customer and supplier email correspondence
• Booking & calendar management and forward planning 
• Building an online presence via our website and social media streams and interpreting trends to convert leads into profits
• Consistency with Social media content creation and presence is a high priority for this position, successful candidates will have experience with social media platforms and creating Reels, Stories, and Posts.
• Managing and liaising with our talented team across studios to ensure jobs are well prepared/organized and ensure compliance with all studio policies and standards
• Utilizing information technology for general administration to maintain accounts, and recording sales figures for data analysis
• Overseeing and controlling stock & supply levels
• Keep a professional appearance / be well groomed etc
• Ensuring the entire studio is kept clinically clean at all times

ARTIST SKILLS

• An exceptional portfolio that can prove skill, knowledge, and potential in the arts with - all ranges of tattooing experience would be welcome to apply!
• Must-Have Good English
• Minimum Five Years Tattooing experience.
• Must have the capability to freehand design and serve walk-in tattoos,
• Be able to deliver exemplary and professional customer service and respect cultural sensitivities,
• Be able to consistently learn and improve to execute a wide range of tattoo designs to a very high standard - open-mindedness is a must!
• Must have an excellent work ethic and the right attitude to work well within a diverse team,
• Would have to be flexible with hours of work ( Including weekends, holidays and night shifts),
• Should be able to commit to the role for at least 24 months, higher preference for those who can commit to longer,
• Knowledge about Maori / Ta-Moko / Polynesian designing or carving experience is a great advantage.

As the 2x positions are both hybrid roles of Studio Managers & Tattoo Artists, the right candidates would have the opportunity to be the faces of the Hanmer Springs Studio, working alongside our talented team across our other locations and help grow a strong reputation and community at our Hanmer Springs Location.
