Team Administrator - People & Culture

Job Description - Team Administrator - People & Culture

Fixed-term | Full-time | Lincoln, Canterbury

PGG Wrightson Seeds is part of the global DLF Group, servicing both New Zealand and international markets. We work across the entire seed journey—from research and development through to production, processing and on-farm support—supplying high-quality seed to arable growers, livestock producers, and food and feed manufacturers.

About the role

We’re looking for a capable and enthusiastic Team Administrator to join our People Team - People & Culture and Safety, Health and Wellbeing on a fixed-term basis.

This is a varied role where no two days will be quite the same. You’ll support everything from employment documentation, recruitment and onboarding to HR systems, payroll coordination, reporting, training administration and health and safety administration.

You’ll be joining a professional, friendly and down-to-earth team that works hard, supports each other and enjoys having a laugh along the way. This could be an excellent early-career opportunity for someone with a tertiary degree who is keen to build practical experience across People & Culture and Safety, Health & Wellbeing.

What you’ll be doing

  • Preparing employment agreements, letters, recruitment documents and other employee correspondence

  • Supporting recruitment, including advertising, phone screening, interview coordination and reference checking

  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee information across HR systems and SharePoint

  • Assisting with onboarding, inductions, training sessions and annual people processes

  • Supporting payroll administration, timesheet checking and employee changes

  • Providing day-to-day administration for health, safety and wellbeing activities

  • Updating procedures, audit records, training information and SafetyNet records

  • Responding to employee and manager queries in a professional and helpful way

  • Collating information and preparing basic reports and analysis

What we’re looking for

This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a career in People & Culture.

You’ll bring:

  • A relevant tertiary degree, ideally in Human Resources

  • Strong administration and organisational skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right

  • Confidence learning and working across different systems and databases

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a warm, approachable and service-focused style

  • The ability to juggle priorities and follow tasks through to completion

  • Sound judgement when handling sensitive and confidential information

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills

  • An interest in People & Culture and Health, Safety & Wellbeing

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who takes ownership, enjoys learning and contributes positively to the team.

What’s in it for you?

  • A genuinely varied role with exposure across People & Culture and Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • A great early-career opportunity to put your tertiary studies into practice

  • A supportive team that will help you learn and build confidence

  • Practical experience across HR systems, recruitment, payroll, reporting and safety administration

  • A professional environment without unnecessary formality

  • A friendly, collaborative culture where ideas and initiative are welcomed

  • The chance to contribute to an organisation that enriches land, life and people through seeds and science

PGG Wrightson Seeds is committed to creating long-lasting, successful careers for our people. If you’re ready to bring your organisation skills, positive energy and willingness to learn to a team that takes its work seriously—but not itself—we’d love to hear from you.
