The Position

GS1 NZ has multiple software-as-a-service platforms, which enable effective and efficient product data and content synchronisation throughout the supply chain. We have an opportunity for an experienced, well-rounded Team Leader  to join our Digital Team. Our team is growing and this presents an exciting opportunity to join a progressive organisation.

Like many organisations that have grown quickly, we have a plethora of legacy and modern systems that we are committed to and resourcing to be modernised and integrated. Some are cloud-hosted; some on virtual machines. We are currently modernising our systems on the Azure cloud platform - any prior experience is welcome including experience with infrastructure as code and working with cloud services. As the Team Leader you will play a critical role in leading and managing a team of digital professionals. This is a role that requires strong people leadership skills and a solid understanding of software engineering and digital technologies to effectively guide and support the team. Your focus will be on fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture, ensuring the successful delivery of digital projects, and maintaining high standards of service and innovation.

You will be a core part of our success as we grow the whole team, plus manage ongoing temporary increased capacity demands, in a thriving and growing organisation.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Information Technology, Digital
• Media, or similar.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a digital environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong understanding of digital technologies, tools, and best practices.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with a focus on people
• development and performance management.
• Excellent project management skills, with experience in overseeing complex digital projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
