The Role

Newly created, as the Network Planning Team Leader you will be responsible for preparing the network development plan and developing the 10-year capital expenditure forecasts.

Leading a small team of astute and capable Planning Engineers, you’ll provide strategic oversight while undertaking hands on engineering and developing solutions to complex network constraints.

An all-encompassing role, your team will play a key part in constantly reviewing the network configuration, seeking network reliability improvement opportunities and ensuring security of supply guidelines are up to date, remaining relevant.

 

About You

With strong experience in network and power system modelling, you’ll likely be ready for your next step or be excited by the opportunity of a strategic role while leading a team. Well-developed people and leadership skills are a must as it a demonstrated ability of working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Innovative, analytical and strategic, you’ll relish the opportunity to develop new tools that support more detailed analysis, further informing investment and engineering decisions. Degree qualified, you’ll come from the energy sector and have a strong appreciation for distribution.

Working closely with the Network Planning Manager, this is the perfect opportunity for those ready to further their career or seeking future management opportunities. With a mix of urban and rural network, you’ll be involved in developing innovative solutions to support increased demand (including new large loads) personified through the unprecedented growth in Central Otago. Aurora continues to evolve providing the additional opportunity of collaborating with other industry providers, including low voltage, sub-transmission and transmission.
