Team Leader – Social Work

About the Role:

Following a change in plans this amazing role is being re-advertised providing a perfect opportunity for the right person to utilise and expand their leadership skills by leading the practice of a passionate team of Child and Family services staff working directly with the staff, the community and stakeholders in Otago and Southland.  

We are open to discussing the location being either our Invercargill or Dunedin office for the right candidate, and candidates should be aware that some travel will be involved.   

Key Responsibilities:

As a Team Leader you will: 

• provide support, professional supervision and leadership to staff 
• manage and allocate workload/case management to staff 
• be responsible for the day to day practice of the service
• liaise closely with stakeholders and community
• assist the Service Manager in the overall management of the team as required

Skills and experience :

• A registered social worker OR be the holder of a recognised qualification under Section 13 of the Social Workers Registration Act 2003
• Exhibit a sound understanding of the principles, theories and implementation of social work practice 
• Experienced providing quality professional social work supervision 
• Have previous experience working in culturally diverse environments, especially Māori and Pasifika, and
• Experience working with vulnerable tamariki/children and family/whanau 
• Proven successful time management and competent computer skills
• A strong networker with community stakeholders
• A full clean NZ driver’s licence
