About us

Comcare is an established Mental Health and Housing provider assisting people with mental health or addiction issues to live well in the community. We provide a rich and diverse range of Mental Health Support Services, Housing and Housing Support Services.

Comcare delivers a Transitional Housing service through the Ministry of Social Development (MSD), providing temporary accommodation and housing facilitation to support individuals in securing long-term, sustainable housing solutions.

About this role

The Team Leader for Tenancy Support Services oversees the Transitional Housing programme, providing leadership and guidance to a team of Transitional Housing Facilitators who deliver housing support to individuals entering the service.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide day-to-day leadership and operational support to the Tenancy Support Services team


• Manage and resolve escalated issues within the Transitional Housing service


• Oversee client entry and exit processes, ensuring smooth transitions into and out of the service


• Develop and deliver training resources and materials to support staff capability and development


• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Transitional Housing service


• Complete regular reporting to meet contractual, operational, and organisational requirements

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven leadership experience


• A sound understanding of the housing sector


• Experience of working with individuals with complex needs, preferably in the mental health and addictions and/or housing sector


• Strong communication skills


• Resilience and composure under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail


• Excellent relationship building skills

Applicants must hold a current full, clean driver’s license. 

You will have a cultural awareness, knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
