Buller District Council is on the hunt for an experienced and passionate Team Leader Transport who’s eager for a new challenge within our dynamic Infrastructure Services team.

What Will You Do? | Ka aha koe?



  • Provide leadership and management for the Roading and Transport team, enabling a positive team environment and fostering a culture of high-performance

  • Monitor contractor performance, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders

  • Provide technical advice on roading and transport issues and ensure roading services are delivered in an effective manner

  • Provide specialist roading and transport expertise and input to the development, communication, and implementation of strategic and long-term plans

  • Manage internal and external budgets, taking responsibility for effective tracking and basic reporting against annual plans

  • Ensure staff and contractors are adhering to Health and Safety legislation and site requirements, as well as BDC Health and Safety Policies and procedures.


 


Who Are You? | Ko wai koe?



  • You will hold a professional engineering qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field and have at least five years post-qualification experience

  • Have a sound understanding of contract management/ project management principles

  • Hold a current STMS qualification (preferable)

  • Have proven leadership experience with the ability to maintain and develop key relationships with internal and external parties and stakeholders

  • Experience in a local government environment (preferable)

  • Have strong computer literacy, particularly in Excel and RAMM, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to other applications and systems
