About the Role
You'll notice the role title is a little different... it's reflective of the outcomes we hope to achieve with this role, rather than just the activities it will undertake. We are looking for a pragmatic, people focused person to help us attract the right people, and create the optimum conditions for our team to succeed!
  
Your key accountabilities will be:

• Partner with the CEO to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support Baygold’s business objectives and values.
• Oversee the day-to-day HR operations, ensuring a hands-on approach to resolving employee issues, enhancing workplace culture, and improving HR processes.
• Lead recruitment efforts to attract, hire, and retain top talent, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience.
• Develop and execute employee engagement programmes, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
• Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, employee relations, and development.
• Manage and mentor 1-2 direct reports, fostering their professional growth and ensuring effective team performance.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices.
• Drive initiatives that promote Baygold’s values and culture, ensuring these are integrated into all HR activities and policies.
• Administer the RSE (Recognised Seasonal Employer) programme, ensuring timely and accurate processing and management of all related activities.
• Build and maintain strong industry relationships to stay informed on best practices and industry trends.

This role is based at Baygold's base known as 'The Station' on the corner of SH2 & Maniatutu Rd, Pongakawa. The Station is approx. 15 minutes drive from Papamoa or 12 minutes drive from Te Puke.
 
Are you the one we are looking for?
This role requires an experienced HR professional with a number of core capabilities, listed below.  Does this sound like you?

• Experienced professional: Preferably, you have a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or similar (however this is not a requirement).  You have a strong understanding of New Zealand employment law and regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.  You have strong business acumen; knowledge about key business issues and understanding how people and practices contribute to core business functions will be greatly beneficial.
• Strategic Thinker:  you effectively develop and deliver key People & Culture strategies, while  providing credible strategic and operational advice.  You are a strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to inform decision-making.
• Relationship Builder: you are known for your ability to build relationships based on trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels.  You are self aware and demonstrate integrity and ethical behaviour in all interactions.
• Leader: you are known for providing leadership in a wide range of situations.  You meet complex challenges and provide strong leadership throughout.  You communicate clearly to influence and inspire.
• Hungry, Humble and Smart: You work well in a team. You are candid and open about your view, and if the decision doesn’t go your way, you’ll be able to move on and work with the teams decision.
