1Centre is a B2B Enterprise SaaS company. We develop customer onboarding and auto-decisioning software. Our target customers are finance and sales teams mostly in the Retail Construction, Food & Beverage, and Rural industries. Our customers can dynamically curate what experience they require of their customers coming through any sales channel in their business (www, store network, sales reps) - we call this ‘Digital Self Serve’. It's easy, live, and controlled by our users. Our tech stack is complex yet simple for our customers. What do we need?

We are looking for a senior engineer with a passion for technology and a great attitude. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the technology sector and a strong desire to continually improve and innovate.. You will have 8+ years of experience building web-based applications on technologies such as ReactJS, Ruby on Rails, and PostgreSQL. You'll have experience mentoring other engineers as this role will potentially convert into a Tech lead role. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment, so experience in a start up environment is advantageous.  Strong communication skills, organisational skills and confidence are essential as you'll also be supporting our growth team to win deals. 

Tasks & responsibilities

• Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and execution of our strategic plan for development based on the technology roadmap.
• Incorporate a product lifecycle, as part of the broader product development roadmap.
• Manage the priorities and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
• Provide leadership underpinned with an energy to move things forward at a rapid pace of growth, and ensuring practices support long-term success.
• Provide direction and leadership to achieve required architecture to meet the business’s current and future needs. 
• Achieve the right balance between timely delivery of market facing features, sustainable architecture, and appropriate technical debt.
• Be the architectural authority to provide technical expertise and support
• This role would potentially convert into a Tech Lead role at 1Centre.

Required

• 8+ years’ experience as a software engineer and/or solution architect using contemporary technologies and Agile methodologies. Preferred Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, JavaScript and ReactJS, CSS/SCSS;
• A passion for technology and an entrepreneurial spirit;
• Experience in a SaaS or cloud environment in the B2B enterprise space;
• A track record of engaging with internal and external stakeholders across diverse set of teams;
• Success working in Agile/Scrum development processes and lean methodology;
• Comfortable in writing technical specifications;
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills;
• A great attitude and work ethic.

Advantageous

• Success working in an agile environment, preferably in a SaaS company;
• TypeScript
• Knowledge in AWS

Qualifications

• BS / MS in Computer Science or Engineering or related fields
