Technical Assistants - Casual

We are looking for 2 Technical Assistants (Casual)  to join our Microbiology Team based at our Christchurch Laboratory. Successful applicants will be responsible for carrying out routine tasks , which support the    Microbiological analysis of routine samples and ensure our customer's products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Your key duties will involve:

• Complete sample preparation within the given turn-around-time (TAT)
• Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures
• Ensure all relevant records are kept up to date at all times
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Participate and contribute to working safely
• Be actively involved in all the day to day improvement activities

Our laboratory is open 7 days a week and flexibility to work overtime at short notice is ideal. Our lab is open 7 days per week so you will need to be able to take on work at short notice.  This work will be on an on call basis to assist through a very busy period of work at the lab.

About you:

We want to hear from motivated individuals who are keen team players with a passion for providing quality customer focus. Ideally you will have/be;

• Experience in a similar environment or worked in Retail or Hospitality
• Passionate about Microbiology as a career
• Good hand and eye co-ordination
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent time management and organisational skill
• Clear communication (both written and verbal)
