Job Description - Technical Writer

FRAMECAD is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Writer to join our team.

About Us

FRAMECAD provides industry-leading construction software and hardware solutions and services to a range of customers across the globe, and we have bold plans for future growth. We believe that our solutions have the potential to revolutionize construction and be better for the planet. Our ambition is to Make Building Better and we are determined to realize it.

Our offer incorporates building systems, design and engineering methodology, design software, cloud business systems, manufacturing equipment, service, maintenance and parts, training support, and custom designed components that enable Modern Methods of Construction to deliver time and cost-efficient construction across a range of applications and sectors.

What You Will Be Doing

As FRAMECAD’s Technical Documentation Lead, you will take full ownership of the creation, management, and publication of all technical and product documentation across our global product suite. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our customers understand how to use our systems effectively and safely by delivering clear, modern, and user-friendly documentation.

This will include:

  • Leading the documentation authoring and publishing processes, tools, and standards.

  • Developing deep knowledge of FRAMECAD’s machinery, software, and component offerings.

  • Creating high-quality user manuals, component datasheets, and process documentation.

  • Recording operational procedures in collaboration with subject matter experts.

  • Maintaining a well-organized, accessible documentation library aligned with FRAMECAD standards.

  • Implementing and managing a robust document change control process.

You will work closely with engineering, software, product, and customer-facing teams to ensure content is accurate, usable, and aligned with customer needs.

What We Are Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced and hands-on documentation specialist who thrives in a technical environment and is passionate about turning complex systems into simple, usable content. You’ll need to be curious, detail-focused, and highly collaborative, with the drive to modernize and streamline how we communicate technical information.

You’ll enjoy working with both physical products and digital tools, and you’ll be comfortable getting hands-on with equipment to understand and explain it clearly. Your ability to engage with technical subject matter experts, engineers, and users will be key to your success.

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Experience in a technical writing role, ideally in a machinery, equipment, or software-based industry. However, ability and attitude is more important than time in role to us.

  • Proven ability to produce high-quality user manuals, SOPs, and datasheets.

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex information.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and advanced skills in word processing and publishing software (e.g., MS Word or equivalent).

  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and support teams.

  • Ability to independently manage documentation processes and project timelines.

Nice to have:

  • Formal qualification in Technical Writing or related discipline.

  • Experience working with physical products including assembly/disassembly.

  • Familiarity with document control standards and systems.
