GreenCycle - Penrose , Auckland is a greenwaste recycling company based in Penrose. We're a small team that is dedicated to transforming greenwaste. We specialise in recycling difficult-to-process greenwaste streams such as palm, flax, and bamboo. The greenwaste we receive is recycled into mulch and compost that helps keep Auckland gardens growing.Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technician to join our team at our Penrose collection site. The Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of our recycling machinery and equipment. This role is critical in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of our recycling process.Key Responsibilities:Perform regular maintenance and repair on recycling machinery, including digger, loader, grinder, and screen.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with equipment.Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.Collaborate with the operations team to ensure machinery is functioning optimally.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.Provide technical support and training to machine operators and other team members.Continuously seek ways to improve machinery performance and process efficiency.Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.Qualifications:1-3 years experience as a mechanical technician in a manufacturing or recycling environment.Experience in planning and conducting preventative and corrective industrial machinery maintenance and repair.Experience in conveyor belt maintenance and repair.Experience in cutting, shaping, and welding metal.Solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Mechanical troubleshooting skills.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Commitment to workplace safety and environmental sustainability.Relevant technical or trade qualifications will be an advantageValid driver's license.Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime, as needed.Excellent computer skills including Microsoft excel and ERP.
