ABOUT US
Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation which uses creative confrontation to protect Earth’s ability to nurture life in all its diversity. Joining Greenpeace puts you at the centre of the fight for the environment against big polluters and climate change.

Make a difference in the world: Learn, lead and grow while you use your talents and creativity to save the planet. The office culture at Greenpeace Aotearoa is guided by our mission, values, and commitment to environmental activism. The team is passionate about defending our natural world and creating positive change.

We recognise and value the benefits and strengths that diversity brings to our employees and the whole organisation, and we thrive in an environment that encourages respect and trust.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Team Leader in our Contact Centre, you will be responsible for managing and inspiring a team of high performing telefundraisers. Your primary goal is to ensure the successful delivery of our Telefundraising programme by meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) related to calling and fundraising. You will play a pivotal role in leading a capable and motivated team, ensuring that all calls are carried out efficiently, professionally, and in alignment with the values and mission of Greenpeace.

You will work closely with two other Team Leaders, a Performance Coach, and the Telefundraising Manager to support day to day operations, deliver effective coaching and training, and uphold a high standard of performance across the team. This role requires a driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, sales-based contact centre environment and can effectively guide, support, and develop their team to consistently achieve targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and inspire your team to consistently meet daily and weekly targets

  • Conduct regular 1:1s to review performance and offer support

  • Monitor calls and performance data to drive improvements

  • Provide regular coaching and training to build skills and confidence

  • Run team meetings to share updates, celebrate success, and reinforce best practice

  • Manage performance through clear goal setting, feedback, and development plans

  • Stay on top of admin tasks related to team management

ABOUT YOU

You have proven experience leading high-performing teams in a contact centre environment - whether in fundraising, customer service, inbound or outbound sales. You are target-driven, motivated, and passionate about helping individuals reach their potential through coaching and support. You set a positive example for your team, bringing energy and commitment to your work.

You lead by example, energise your team, and know how to bring the best out of people. Your leadership fosters a culture of performance, positivity, and professionalism.

Our campaigns focus on urgent environmental issues such as climate action, ocean protection, and reducing single-use plastics. You will inspire your team not just to meet targets, but to champion in the mission and make a difference through every conversation.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ year of contact centre leadership (TL/Contact Center Manager) – managing and coaching teams of 5+ in a fast-paced environment

  • 2+ years frontline contact centre experience – hitting KPIs and thriving under pressure

  • Strong coaching skills – driving performance through feedback, support and development
Training experience – running sessions to build skills and improve results

  • Effective performance management – handle underperformance by setting clear expectations and implementing strategies that lift performance

  • Bonus: Recruitment experience – interviewing or onboarding is desirable

  • Adaptability to new systems  – you pick up new systems and tools quickly

  • Passionate about protecting the environment, and creating a sustainable future.
