Test Analyst (Systems and Solutions) - Automation

We're excited to offer an exceptional opportunity to join our Systems & Solutions Team as a Test Analyst specializing in Automation. This role is crucial for conducting technical testing, ensuring the quality of Tait's solutions for our esteemed Critical Communications clientele.

In this position, you'll be hands-on, working to enhance the automation of testing and deployment processes for solution architectures, which encompass hardware products, microservices, and simulators. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal role in evaluating and providing feedback on test plans, designs, and various necessary documents such as user stories and project plans. Reporting to the Systems & Solutions Validation Manager, you'll have a central role in:

  • Conducting system testing across multiple Tait Systems.
  • Expanding automated testing coverage and streamlining the deployment of test systems and environments.
  • Collaborating with Partnering Engineers to seamlessly integrate partner solutions with Tait products.

Our Test Analyst - Automation opportunity is a Permanent, Fulltime position and will attract an annual base salary in the range of $70,000 to $89,000 per annum, based in Christchurch.

The duties of the role will include:

  • Conducting requirements analysis and modelling.
  • Reviewing and inspecting requirements and other development documentation.
  • Planning and coordinating tests, often acting as the sole Tester for larger projects.
  • Designing Automated Tests.
  • Critically examining test and design solutions.
  • Investigating and evaluating design and test processes, tools, equipment, and third-party components.
  • Supporting the team by assisting other testers, fostering skill development, and contributing to the team's overall proficiency.
  • Documenting, reviewing, and maintaining Tait's Verification and Validation Standards.

Ō pūkenga - About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Computer Science/Electronics or equivalent)

As well as:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Technical Tester (preferably at the confluence of Microservices based Applications and Embedded Software/Products)
  • Proven competency in an OOP Language (Python preferred)
  • Proven experience in implementing improvements in Test processes.
  • Proven experience in implementation test automation frameworks, ideally involving Microservices/Embedded systems,
  • Proven experience in CI/CD eco-systems (e.g. Gitlab AzureDevOps) and tool-chains to automate deployment of containerized application ecosystems (e.g. Docker)
  • It is preferred, you have experience in administration of Linux based systems/solution architectures.
