We are seeking proactive and safety-focused TMO to join our dedicated traffic team, supporting the delivery of cyclic and first response maintenance activities on the state highway network throughout the Manawatu-Whanganui region as part of our IDC contract.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

As a qualified Traffic Management Operative (TMO/TC), you will play a pivotal role at the forefront of maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow onsite, utilising your up-to-date industry certifications and strong commitment to safety excellence.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

• Expertly control vehicle and pedestrian movement using signage, and automatic signals

• Install, maintain, and remove road signs, cones, barriers, and other essential traffic management devices in line with Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)

• Liaise effectively with your STMS to facilitate smooth operations and manage unexpected incidents

• Participate actively in daily briefings to enhance understanding of risk management for each project

• Current Traffic Control Qualifications/TMO Worker qualifications

• Previous experience as a Traffic Controller

• Full Class 1 drivers licence

• Ideally experienced in, or understands of roading/civil construction

• Flexible to work on call over weekends on a roster

• Demonstrated strong communication skills
