Touch Coaches

Rangi Ruru Girls' School is seeking enthusiastic and committed Touch Coaches to join our programme for Term 4 2026.

Our coaches play an important role in creating positive, athlete-centred environments where players can develop their skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver one engaging training session each week.


• Coach the team at weekly after-school competition games (Wednesday afternoons, with occasional Monday fixtures).


• Support the technical, tactical and personal development of student-athletes.


• Foster a positive, inclusive and enjoyable team culture.


• Communicate effectively with players, the Sport Convenor, Sport Development Lead and Director of Sport.


• Promote positive sportsmanship and uphold the values and expectations of the Rangi Ruru Sport Programme.

• Have a passion for Touch and youth development.


• Enjoy mentoring and motivating young people.


• Bring energy, positivity, and strong communication skills.


• Value teamwork, inclusion, and creating enjoyable sporting experiences.

We are looking for coaches who are passionate about developing young athletes, enjoy building strong relationships, and are committed to creating positive sporting experiences. Previous coaching experience is preferred, however coaching qualifications are not essential, with support and mentoring provided throughout the season.
