The Ōtaki to North Levin project focuses on upgrading the transport link along State Highway 1 (SH1) between Ōtaki and North Levin to improve road safety, reduce congestion, enhance travel efficiency, and support regional economic growth. It is one of the Government’s Roads of National Significance and is being undertaken by two Alliances – the north (delivered by partners Fulton Hogan, HEB, WSP and Aurecon) and south (delivered by partners Downer, McConnell Dowell, Beca and Tonkin+Taylor).

This exciting new four-lane 24.8km highway project will dramatically improve safety and resilience, providing better access to walking and cycling facilities for those moving around or through the Horowhenua and Kāpiti districts.

We’re looking for an experienced Traffic Management Planner to join our Ōtaki to North Levin project, with Fulton Hogan.

You’ll be responsible for developing safe, compliant, and effective traffic management plans for works on or near roads. You will ensure that road projects, construction sites, or events adhere to relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements. Working on a Major Project, you will be confident in your risk based designs and have an eye for detail to ensure everything is planned correctly to ensure efficient set up by the TTM Crew.

In addition to the above you will:

  • The design of all TMPs for single and multiple activities as prioritised
  • Developing TMPs in accordance with CoPTTM/NZGTTM standards
  • Producing traffic management plans using rapid plan, AUTO CAD software
  • Manage complete process from request to approvals
  • Proven track record of producing complex and high-quality TMPs

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Current Class 1 Driver’s License
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a TMP Planner is ideal
  • Relevant (TTM) experience (Class A/B/C NP or STMS 2/3 NP) is advantageous
  • Proficient in Rapidplan or AUTO CAD software is required
  • Ideally be a qualified Temporary Barrier Designer and Inspector
  • Understanding of RBTTM (Risk based TTM)

In partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, and the Horowhenua District Council, this project will be executed through a two-alliance approach. Each alliance will be responsible for delivering a section of the road and associated works, ensuring a collaborative and comprehensive delivery.
