Transport Refrigeration Technician

Excel Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced Transport Refrigeration Technician to join our Manawatu team. This is an opportunity to become part of a growing business, with the potential to play a key role in shaping and leading the future direction of our transport refrigeration operations.

The Role

This role will involve working in both workshop and field service environments, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on transport refrigeration systems. Beyond day to day servicing and repairs, the position offers the opportunity to help develop and eventually manage the Excel Transport Refrigeration division in a future leadership capacity.

Core responsibilities will include:

• Developing and growing the transport refrigeration service offering

• Building customer and team relationships

• Carrying out maintenance and servicing on transport refrigeration units

• Delivering high quality work and strong customer service outcomes

• Business reporting and service documentation

• Supporting after hours and urgent breakdown responses when required

• Maintaining strong health, safety and environmental practices

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with leadership potential and who is motivated by the opportunity to build customer relationships, identify opportunities and contribute to the expansion of the transport refrigeration division.

Trade qualifications in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or Diesel Mechanics are preferred but not essential.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Experience working within refrigeration, transport refrigeration or diesel mechanical environments

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability

• An interest in helping lead the future growth of Excel Transport Refrigeration

• Ability to identify new business opportunities and build long term customer relationships

• A willingness to step into increased responsibility as the division continues to expand

• Current unrestricted driver licence

• New Zealand residency or valid New Zealand working rights
