Tunnel Construction Worker - Auckland

It is an exciting time to join the McConnell Dowell Whanau as we continue to secure impressive projects across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.We are looking for an enthusiastic Tunnel Construction Worker to join our high-performing team in Auckland, reporting to our Mechanical Superintendent.About the Role :The Tunnel Construction Worker is responsible for assisting with general duties on the site.Operating and maintaining equipment and tools to a high standard.Responsible for manual handling and assisting with cleaning on the site.Apply strict time keeping standards to yourself and strive to meet targets, daily, weekly, milestones.Supervise Subcontractors as directed from time to time.Work within the site policies / work plans when working with the crane and specialist machinery on site.What we'll need from you :Experience in Tunneling or Mining activities preferredMotivated to meet targets and schedulesStrong and clear verbal communication skillsAttention to detail whilst undergoing installation of tunnel services.Identify possible issues affecting tunnelling operations.Ability to understand safety requirement relating to tunnelling and mining operations.Happy with shift work, long hours, unsociable hoursAbility to work away from home if required.Eager to learn, adaptable to different tasks as required.Good team playerPhysically fitComfortable with working in a confined space environment / underground / tunnel / shaft work etcDemonstrate respect and fairness for all members of the teamDon't tick all the boxes but you're still excited about this opportunity?
