Summary

We are looking for a talented UI/UX Designer to join our team. You could be a high level intermediate designer in your career transitioning into senior level. The ideal candidate will possess strong design foundations in UI/UX or web design (any background or knowledge in graphic design, visual design and typography would be advantageous). You will be creating visually stunning, engaging and interactive interfaces across websites or web apps. This role allows you to take creative ownership on projects, and work collaboratively with Developers and Project Managers. You'll have direct contact with the client to understand their goals and to ensure that all design work is completed to a high standard and meets client expectations. 

Responsibilities

Primary

• Design high-quality, modern user-friendly interfaces that optimise user navigation and intent and meet client business goals across web and mobile platforms.
• Apply strategic mindset to design and overall user experience.
• Conduct research to identify user needs, pain points, and preferences. 
• Take ownership of the design from ideation to development handover.
  From user flows, sitemaps, information architecture, style guides, wireframes and UI Design to effectively communicate design ideas and solutions.
• Work with developers to ensure precision in designs and on-going support throughout the development process.
• Liaise with clients/stakeholders to understand their goals. Present and rationalise design work, implement any feedback to iterations.
• Collaborate with Developers and Project Managers to ensure designs are completed on time and meet client expectations.

Secondary

• Assist in (occasional) ad hoc graphics work. This can include creating logos, email signatures, EDMs and ads for digital marketing campaigns when required.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools and technologies, and proactively apply to our work.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and other team members as needed.
• Contribute to improving design operations and processes.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX, Web/Graphic/Interaction Design or related field.
• At least 3-5+ years as UI/UX or Web Designer in a digital agency environment.
• Proficiency in design software and tools, ie. Figma, Adobe CC Suite
• Experience in creating highly usable, intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user interface solutions across responsive design.
• Experience in creating and maintaining design systems/component libraries, ensuring consistency across multiple projects.
• Have foundational knowledge in user-centred design and accessibility standards. As well as design principles and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the confidence to articulate designs to the team, clients/stakeholders throughout the process.
• Detailed oriented and possess excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Knowledge of basic front-end development HTML/CSS/Javascript or tech stacks such as Wordpress/React.js is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic SEO, not crucial however openness to learn is a must.
• Passionate about design and technology.
