Utilities Technician - Water

What you will do:

Play a key role in delivering water infrastructure projects to the highest standards. Working closely with the Utilities Supervisor and Programme Manager, you’ll ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with design specifications and Regional Infrastructure Technical Standards (RITS).

• Install and maintain water reticulation systems, including fittings, service pipes, welding, and meter replacements.


• Interpret plans and apply correct procedures using RITS specifications.


• Conduct pressure and chlorination testing, collect samples, and provide technical recommendations.


• Operate machinery and perform labouring tasks as required.


• Maintain a safe worksite for team members and the public.


• Complete documentation accurately and on time.

What we're looking for:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in water industry repair, maintenance, and installation.


• Proven experience with underground services and utilities.


• National Certificate in Water Reticulation Level 3/4 (or willingness to work towards it).


• Competency in operating relevant machinery and plant.


• Full driver’s license (WTR - endorsements preferred).


• Physically fit, self-motivated, and strong problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to health and safety.
