Varsity Volleyball Head Coach

George School, a Quaker boarding/day grades 9-12 college preparatory high school located in Newtown, Bucks County, PA  seeks a dynamic and experienced Varsity Volleyball Head Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the varsity team, including coaching, program development, and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead all practices, competitions, and team activities
• Develop athletes’ technical skills, game strategy, and overall performance
• Establish a positive, inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, leadership, and personal growth
• Supervise and support assistant coaches and contribute to overall program development
• Coordinate match scheduling, travel, and game-day logistics
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and school staff

• Previous volleyball coaching experience (varsity or club level preferred).
• Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, systems, and training methods.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate high school–aged student-athletes.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Availability for afternoon/evening practices and competitions.
• Commitment to working towards antiracism and developing and practicing cultural competency.
• Commitment to the traditions and philosophy of a Quaker educational community.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population and a style consistent with Quaker values.
