Job Description - Venue Manager | Minus 5° ICE BAR

Are you ready to lead one of Queenstown’s most iconic and immersive experiences?



Minus 5° ICE BAR is not your average hospitality venue. It's an arctic adventure where everything – from the walls and furniture to the glasses in your hand – is carved entirely from ice. As part of Future Hospitality Group (FHG), we're looking for a dynamic Venue Manager who thrives on delivering unforgettable guest experiences in this standout, specialty environment.



About the Role


As Venue Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of Minus 5° ICE BAR, driving performance across service, people, and profit. You’ll be the face of the brand, ensuring every visitor walks away wowed while leading the team, driving engagement, financial excellence, and operational mastery.



Key Responsibilities



  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team, embodying FHG’s values: Aspirational, Collaboration, Communication, Consistency, and Culture.

  • Deliver consistent, elevated service aligned with our 6-Star Guest Experience model.

  • Manage staffing, wage efficiency, rostering, and operational systems.

  • Champion FHG's Alcohol Management Plan and Host Responsibility practices.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Operations to execute activations and promotions.

  • Own financial outcomes – COGS, wage targets, revenue growth – and implement strategies to improve profitability.

  • Ensure all health, safety, licensing, and compliance standards are exceeded.

  • Promote a team culture where feedback, recognition, and growth are embedded daily.



About You



  • Minimum 2 years of venue, tourism or bar management experience in a high-volume environment.

  • Manager's Certificate (LCQ) and strong working knowledge of NZ liquor licensing laws.

  • Passionate about guest service, team development, and leadership.

  • Data-driven and operationally savvy, with a strong eye for detail.

  • A problem-solver with a cool head - even in sub-zero temperatures.

  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and peak tourism periods.
