Warehouse Manager

The role involves:

• Team Management: Managing a small team of permanent warehouse team members (as well as up to 40 casual team members during peak sales periods such as Christmas), including hiring, training, rostering, and performance management. Ensuring the team operates smoothly and efficiently.
• Warehouse Operations: Planning, organising, overseeing, and performing day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of products quickly and accurately.
• Inventory Management: Overseeing and managing inventory levels, ensuring accuracy, and implementing efficient inventory control procedures to minimise stock discrepancies, monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing safety protocols, and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Quality Assurance: Implementing quality control measures to ensure accuracy and integrity of goods received and orders shipped. Resolving any quality issues or discrepancies promptly.
• Equipment and Maintenance: Overseeing maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, and ensuring equipment is in good working condition.
• Cost Management: Monitoring and controlling warehouse expenses, such as labour costs, packaging, equipment maintenance, and supplies, to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to budget. 
• Reporting and Documentation: Generating regular reports on warehouse activities, including planning and forecasting, inventory levels, productivity metrics, and performance indicators. Maintaining accurate documentation of warehouse processes and procedures.
• Supplier Management: Maintaining good relationships with our packaging suppliers, service providers, and delivery partners.
• Warehouse Procurement: Maintaining adequate stock levels of packaging supplies to ensure uninterrupted warehouse operations and timely order fulfilment.
• Company-Wide Collaboration: Working closely with other business areas, such as purchasing, logistics, marketing, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and communication across the company.
• Process Improvement: Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing strategies to optimise warehouse operations, such as layout optimisation, implementing new technologies, or streamlining workflows.

The successful applicant must:

• Have previous experience in warehousing, logistics or retail, as well as leading teams. 
• Have the confidence and communication skills to oversee our warehouse operations.
• Understand the importance of workplace health & safety. 
• Be willing to work alongside the team filling orders and processing deliveries.
• Be reliable, trustworthy, efficient, hard-working, well organised and a fast learner.
• Have outstanding attention to detail, initiative, high standards and great follow-through.
• Be fit, healthy, enthusiastic and a team player.
• Be a competent internet and computer user.
• Have strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Pass a criminal record and credit check.
