What we are looking for

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Security Industry Work-Based Learning (WBL) Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing learners in real work environments, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen field. This role requires a passion for education, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing quality support to learners.

Role purpose

The role entails providing learner-centered support and assessment in an innovative, motivational, and quality-driven manner, fostering a positive learning experience for trainees. WBL assessors will engage in self-reflection, self-assessment, and evaluation of their learners' outcomes, all while actively participating in collaboration with colleagues and the Head of School.

• Provide trainee-centred support and assessment to learners, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs and learning styles.
• Foster an innovative and motivational learning environment that encourages engagement and inspires learners to reach their full potential.
• Deliver support and assessment in a supportive and empathetic manner, recognizing and addressing the unique challenges and strengths of each learner.
• Collaborate with learners to set achievable goals and develop action plans to facilitate their progress and success.
• Ensure that assessments are conducted with integrity and fairness, adhering to established standards and regulations.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance the quality of support and assessment services to meet the evolving needs of learners and stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Education, Training, Business, etc.) or equivalent experience.

Desirables

• Assessor Certificate, Unit Standards - 4098 & 11281, NZQA Unit Standard 4098
• A Certificate of Approval
• Previous experience in providing learner-centered support and assessment, preferably in a vocational model.
• Experience working in the security sector is highly desirable.
