Position Overview
IMG is seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder to join our dynamic team on-site at our client's facility in Devonport. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, focusing on safety, quality, and attention to detail. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal parts and structures according to specifications. As a Fabricator Welder, you will need to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining technical proficiency and adhering to the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cut and remove damaged equipment and materials from equipment
Prepare and shape components for welding
Understand and apply appropriate preheating methodologies as required
Fabricate and assemble ferrous and non-ferrous metal components and structures based on detailed blueprints and specifications.
Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, ensuring precise and high-quality welds.
Inspect welded surfaces and structures to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
Understanding of the requirements of finishing work to the required standards
Conduct routine maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment and tools.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Work closely with fellow team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Fabricator Welder in a heavy marine, industrial or manufacturing setting.
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
The ability to qualify for relevant welding certifications and qualifications in pipe, plate and structural welding processes is a necessity
Ability to qualify for management of complex job state conditions and requirements, such as confined space, working at heights, hot work and low oxygen environments
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with welding and fabrication.
Strong focus on precision and quality in all aspects of work.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work varying hours and adapt to changing schedules as needed.
