Workforce Analyst – Firearms Safety Authority

  • Location: Auckland or Wellington
  • Starting Salary - $80,295 to $83,973

Mō te tūnga | About the role

Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority, is focused on making our communities safer by overseeing the legitimate possession and use of firearms in New Zealand.

Established to modernise, lead, and operate a refreshed firearms regulatory framework, Te Tari Pūreke is responsible for delivering a more efficient and effective risk-based licensing system, educating, and encouraging the safe possession and use of firearms Aotearoa, and improving public confidence in the firearms licensing system overall.As the system regulator we are committed to earning the trust and confidence of New Zealanders by working together in partnership with the firearms community, iwi, the wider New Zealand public, other policing groups, as well as other agencies and organisations to achieve collective impact.

Workforce Management (WFM) is crucial for delivering our services and effectively deploying our most important resource – our people – within Te Tari Pūreke . By joining our high-performing team, you will contribute to keeping our personnel safe, reducing risk, and ensuring we meet demand.

To succeed in this role, you should have experience using extensive data sets to create narratives, be adept with various software tools (like Excel) and excel with numbers. Strong communication, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills are essential for identifying and resolving inefficiencies and effectively communicating with internal stakeholders.

While WFM experience is highly beneficial, we are eager to hear from you if you believe you have a transferable skill set.

  • An ability to think analytically and critically, and present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
  • Analyse workforce data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Exceptional teamwork and collaborative ability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills:

  • A curiosity about how we can use data differently to inform business decisions and an ability to present insights in a clear manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in workforce analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with scheduling / workforce management tools and software would be an advantage.
