At Peke Waihanga our work culture is down to earth yet dynamic, and continues to change and evolve to meet the needs of our service users. Our workshop team is made up prosthetic and orthotic technician, a Workshop lead, and Workshop Assistant. The team also interact directly with our clinical prosthetist/orthotists, stock administrators and allied health professionals.
The Workshop Assistant will support our Workshop Lead to ensure the workshop is well organised and compliant with health and safety, and that the devices we manufacture are at a consistently high standard.
The ideal applicant for this role will have excellent communication skills so as to support our team of highly skilled prosthetic/orthotic technicians and to interact with our wider team.
Additionally, you will provide support to the manufacturing team by assisting with tasks such as stock management, equipment maintenance and documentation and contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of medical device production.
As Workshop Assistant you will:
The ideal applicant will be adaptable to changing priorities, work schedules and new challenges within the manufacturing environment. You will need to have a positive outlook and enjoy a varied role with opportunities to take on new tasks and responsibilities as required.
We are seeking a proactive team member who will actively contribute to the identification and implementation of process improvements in the workshop and suggest ideas and solutions.
The ideal applicant will have experience in a workshop environment, as a labourer, or as a handyman and enjoy a hands-on role where no two days are the same.
