Service Technician / Apprentice

Are you a motivated individual looking to kickstart your career in a dynamic environment? Stihl Shop Fosters specializes in the sales and service of outdoor power equipment and is currently seeking a self-motivated individual to join our team at our Blenheim Rd store as a Service Technician or Apprentice.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled technicians, servicing a diverse range of equipment including ride-on mowers, outdoor power equipment, and contracting machinery. Your responsibilities will include assisting technicians, interacting with customers to gather repair details, organizing parts, and occasionally providing support in our showroom.

As part of this role, you will undertake the New Zealand Certificate in Outdoor Power Equipment (Level 3 and 4) through MITO. This comprehensive training program combines practical training and assessment in the workplace with eLearning modules. The apprenticeship is expected to be completed within three and a half to four years.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• A positive and motivated attitude, with a demonstrated history of commitment, whether it be to academics, sports, or other endeavors.
• NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident  
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• A strong schooling background with a proficiency in Maths and English is preferred.
• Passion for the industry and a willingness to learn.
• Serious about achieving a qualification and starting a career with a willingness to complete the required training and assessments.
