Cafe and Boat Chef Milford Sound

An opportunity has arisen for a chef position to work on our daily cruise vessels and in  our cafe in Milford Sound

What will you be doing?

• Working under the Head chef, as part of the team. cooking food in our cafe and on our vessels
• Preparing cafe style food and also working with the team to produce a quality buffet offering on our vessels. 
• Where required, assist in planning menus, estimating food costs, and ordering food supplies
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with the Head Chef, and kitchen and hospitality staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures to more junior members of the team
• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
• Training seasonal staff in the kitchen and galley as required
• Freezing and preserving foods as requested by the Head or Sous Chef

What do we need from you?

• A passion for cooking delicious food
• At least 3 years' experience working as a chef 
• Strong Food Safety skills and meticulous attention to hygiene
• Strong work ethic, 'can-do' attitude and the ability to self-manage
• Able to cope with the challenge of living and working remotely
