Mō te tūnga | About the Role
Here at Christchurch Hospital we are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to deliver high quality paediatric services as part of our Musculoskeletal and Paediatric Cluster in Christchurch Hospital. This role is an acute hospital role encompassing inpatients (predominant caseload) and outpatients.
Our paediatric physiotherapists have a varied case load and includes work across two inpatient Paediatric wards, a Paediatric HDU, Child Haematology Oncology Unit, and the Children’s Acute Assessment Unit. The outpatient component comprises predominantly respiratory-based services. You will work closely with other part time paediatric Physiotherapists and be part of the Musculoskeletal and Paediatric cluster within the department.
This
role sits within a wider team working across the clinical specialities of
inpatient orthopaedics, Acute Trauma, Acute Spinal, Emergency Department, Burns
and Plastics, ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat), and the Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit.
Excellent communication skills will
ensure that you work effectively within the team. This includes building
rapport with children and whānau in challenging situations to ensure the best
care is given to the child. Planning, organisational and service development
skills are central to this busy role.
You
may be required to contribute to the weekend and on-call rosters.
