Job Description - Account Manager

Our client is a privately owned New Zealand company operating production sites located in the North Island. They are looking for a professional Account Manager* to join their team and continue to drive the success of their business.

As the Account Manager you will be maintaining and developing a strong existing client base along with developing new business. Your focus area will be in Europe and Asia internationally in addition to NZ markets.

About the Role

The is not your typical Account Manager* position. It is better and far more interesting!

The product being sold has a number of variables involved that need to be understood and managed to achieve successful sales and deliver what our valued customers need. This will require you to work closely with the production team ensuring strict delivery time frames are achieved and product quality is at the highest standard.

Some key responsibilities will include:

  • Client Relationship Management – maintain and develop existing customer relationships.
  • Business Development – identity and purse new business opportunities and product opportunities
  • Stock Management – Monitoring stock levels and liaising daily with Site Managers
  • Working closely with the production team to ensure customer requirements are met.

This role is based in Hastings with regular domestic travel (day trips not overnight) and some international travel (2-3 trips per year) required.

About you

Our client is in search of a account management professional with strong planning and organisational skills along with passion and drive to succeed. Ideally you will have a background in the primary sector but it is not essential if you can demonstrate a real passion for what our client does.

Important to this role:

  • Previous account management/sales/primary industry experience.
  • A tertiary qualification would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Affinity with the Primary industry
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of people and cultures
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analysis and planning skills
  • Able to influence and negotiate at all levels
