Job Description - Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager (Full-time, Permanent) About the Role: As a result of an internal promotion the Kawerau District Council now has a vacancy for an Engineering Manager. The position project manages a range of civil projects, from management of Kawerau District’s three waters, to reticulation, plant and construction works, and building/infrastructure maintenance. The successful applicant will also work closely with the Asset and Contracts Manager supporting the development of asset management plans, managing engineering contracts, and managing contractors. About You: You will ideally be able to offer: • An applicable Engineering qualification at tertiary level (or recognised equivalent status) • Registration as an Engineer (desirable) • 5+ years of experience in a role with water services, reticulation, projects, people management, and contractor management experience • A sound understanding of legislative and statutory requirements for Local Water Done Well/Three Waters management at local government level • A sound understanding of health and safety requirements in industry situations • Staff management skills and well-developed interpersonal skills • Critical decision making skills • Effective report writing skills. You must be eligible to work in NZ, and hold a current NZ Class 1 drivers licence (or equivalent).
