On behalf of our Palmerston North-based client, The Pond Recruitment is looking for a Graphic & Brand Designer to manage all aspects of design, brand, and marketing communications for this well-known regional brand. This is a senior role where you will ensure the design and creative deliverables are on brand, on budget, and on time. You’ll have experience mentoring and managing other designers with confidence and autonomy. Self-management is key in this role, as is confidence working with and presenting to internal and external stakeholders.

This role will also have you working with a positive design team of seven. Leading the in-house studios art direction, providing creative direction on big brand and campaign communications, hands-on design skills across a variety of digital and traditional mediums, improving the design team capabilities and production, managing concepts from creation to completion, and leading design best practice through the creation and delivery of content that elevates the brand in a competitive marketplace.

The breakdown

We are looking for a Graphic & Brand Designer with:

• Min 5 years working in an advertising or design studio, or in-house creative team
• Experience mentoring young creatives is advantageous

• Strong conceptual design thinking
• Lead the art direction and construct beautiful design across all mediums for the brand
• Mentor other designers with confidence
• Continuously improve the design team’s production capabilities
• Lead design innovation consistent with company strategy and direction
• Confident in adhering to and developing brand tone of voice/brand messaging
• Strong design skills across typography, layout and production
• Efficient on the tools, and deadline-driven
• Organising file management with clear and detailed processes
