Job Description - Programme Manager

Posting Description:

Aon is in the business of better decisions.

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

How this opportunity is different

As a result of better understanding segment performance and opportunity, the business is anticipating making a range of strategic portfolio management decisions, with the intent of delivering better outcomes for our clients and our organisation.

You'll take the lead in delivering the resultant target operating model, working across our organisation to develop coordinated systems, processes, capabilities and ways of working.

This is a Fixed-Term Contract position that will be based out of Aon New Zealand's Head Office located in the Aon Centre in Commercial Bay.

What the day will look like

  • You will work closely supporting the Head of Strategy & Execution, and the New Zealand organisation in developing an integrated, enterprise-wide programme of work.
  • Support the translation of our strategy into a quantified, prioritised and integrated multi-year plan, covering both run-the-business and change-the-business activities, ensuring all strategic options are considered.
  • Support the identification and quantification of initiatives within the programme with appropriate investment cases, including costs, benefits, value and committed outcomes.
  • Programme management and orchestration of all delivery effort, including the co-ordination of business and subject matter expert resources.
  • Responsible for outcome management, including continuous alignment of programme performance to outcomes, managing dependencies and sequencing to optimise portfolio value.
  • Develop agile planning and governance across the programme, including work-stream steering and orchestration, resource planning, change heat mapping and management, risk identification and management, ceremonies and cadences, and portfolio reporting.
  • Be the connection point for the regional and global teams where you will collaborate to find opportunities to demonstrate broader firm outcomes.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Integrated multi-year strategy design and development experience, including synthesis of multiple strategic needs, initiatives and outcomes into a coordinated enterprise plan that combines large scale change and BAU activity.
  • Track record of successful management of large scale, complex programmes including the combination of technology, process, data, regulatory, capability and cultural transformation
  • Leading enterprise process re-engineering programmes and operating model changes
  • High degree of commercial and financial competence, including developing and tracking integrated business cases and capability in delivering a return on investment over the course of a multi-year portfolio of work.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead a compelling change narrative with senior executives through to client-facing colleagues alike.
  • Experience adapting traditional organisations to an agile change and lean governance environment, including mentoring of leaders to effectively balance changing and running our firm.

How we support our colleagues

In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. Plus, our agile, inclusive environment allows you to manage your wellbeing and work/life balance, ensuring you can be your best self at Aon.

Furthermore, all colleagues enjoy two “Global Wellbeing Days” each year, encouraging you to take time to focus on yourself.
