  • About the role

    As a Registered Nurse in our Community Palliative Care team, you’ll care for tūroro (patients), families and whānau, visiting them in their homes and providing expert and compassionate nursing care. Based at our wonderful, newly refurbished Hospice site in Takapuna, you’ll be part of our skilled and experienced multidisciplinary team and will:

    • Take pride in delivering holistic care
    • Provide symptom management and end-of-life care
    • Care for patients with a wide range of diagnoses and at different stages of their disease trajectory

    We have full and part time positions available. Work/life balance is important to us, and we’ve embraced new ways of working. Our hybrid working model allows you some flexibility with working from home and the office.

    About you

    You are a Registered Nurse ideally with palliative care and/or community experience. We will also consider nurses from similar specialties such as oncology, neurology or haematology. You’re caring, compassionate, professional and driven to deliver the best care possible every day.

    You will:

    • Be a Registered Nurse, New Zealand Nursing Council and hold a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate
    • Have a genuine interest in and desire to further develop in palliative care in the community
    • Be committed to achieving PDRP Level 3 within 12 months of employment
    • Be adaptable, able to work autonomously and communicate collaboratively as part of the multi -disciplinary team
    • Have a full, clean NZ driver’s licence

    Harbour Hospice is one of the largest hospices in Aotearoa and has been caring for tūroro and their family and whānau for almost 40 years. Every day we care for close to 400 people across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford regions, supporting them at home, in one of our two inpatient units, or in community programmes offered at each of our three sites.

    Our bespoke services given free of charge, include medical care, spiritual, psychological and social support, physio, occupational and complementary therapy, social activities and more.
