Our Opportunity:
In this role as Programme Manager (Senior Project Manager), you'll have the opportunity to work on some of New Zealand's iconic infrastructure, which brings the exciting challenge of high complexity and high investment (circa $1B). In this role, you'll be helping to take care of tomorrow by managing the programme of works associated with adding an additional 50MW of generation to Ngā Tamariki Geothermal Power Station. You'll play a crucial role in supporting and guiding the team to deliver this key project which supports the decarbonisation of New Zealand. This role combines strategic planning, relationship building, industry contextual planning and requires great commercial and contractual acumen.
You will have 3 direct reports (a total of 7 in your team) and will facilitate the use of contractors to accelerate our delivery of initiatives providing you with an opportunity to leave a legacy at Mercury by setting up simple and effective processes to support delivery of great outcomes. You will be exposed to Mercury's ways of working where you will be able to get involved in additional initiatives of interest to you, supported by a leader who is respectful, transparent and empowering. This role is preferred to be in Rotorua or Taupo but Hamilton can work if travel to Rotorua/Taupo regularly is achievable.
