Following the announcement on Friday regarding the changes across the organisation and the introduction of a number of new roles, we are excited to now open expressions of interest for these roles internally, for HDC employees only. These roles are:

Your expressions of interest are now welcome for the role of Strategic and Corporate Planner above.

This role focuses on advancing Council's strategic planning efforts by assisting in the development and execution of crucial projects such as the Long Term Plan and Annual Report, while also overseeing the Strategy, Policy, and Bylaw work programme. Additionally, it involves maintaining collaboration with Council teams to ensure timely reviews and contributing to community plans and regional leadership initiatives. Finally, this role plays a pivotal role in shaping Council's strategic direction by developing and monitoring key documents like the Long Term and Annual Plans through the preparation of the Annual Report.

The ideal candidate will have relevant qualification or experience in public policy, corporate planning, or project management, and have a minimum of two years of experience in local government. Ideally, you will have experience and working knowledge of Long Term Plans, Annual Plans, and Annual Reports, including their development process, as well as a track record in community and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, the ability to cultivate strong working relationships and become a trusted advisor and colleague is essential.
