About this opportunity

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production team leaders and their teams within the thermoforming department, ensuring adherence to company policies related to safety, quality, and environmental standards. The role includes ensuring timely completion of the production plan, developing team leadership skills among team leaders, maintaining consistent treatment across operations, controlling staffing costs, and managing overtime, absenteeism, and operational performance.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure that production targets are met consistently across the thermoforming department.
  • Monitor and support team leaders in managing staff absences and tardiness, including conducting counseling sessions to address concerns.
  • Ensure fair work rotation and equal training and development opportunities among team members.
  • Oversee team performance management, including addressing non-performance issues, and encourage coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure documentation of all training sessions and staff discussions.
  • Promote exemplary health and safety behaviours among team leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and PPE requirements, and manage reporting of near misses, accidents, and hazards.
  • Ensuring team leaders are adhering to FSSC22000 and HACCP food safety standards through working to procedures and conducting internal audits.
  • Oversee the management of maintenance issues and equipment performance.

Your skills and experience:

  • Plastic Industry engineering and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Planning and Organising.
  • Computer Skills – Microsoft Products (Word, excel, outlook).
  • Leadership skills
  • Problem solving
  • Numeracy skills
  • Relevant qualification in Plastics, manufacturing or engineering is preferred but not essential.
