Job Description - Technician

HSEQ DIGITAL PLATFORM TECHNICIAN Thermosash Commercial Ltd started in 1973 and has expanded to become New Zealand’s established leader in the commercial window and curtainwall design/manufacturing/ contracting field with branches in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. We are seeking a Digital Platform Technician with 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role to join our dedicated HSEQ team in Henderson to serve as the technical authority for managing our HSEQMS digital platform, to guarantee the HSEQ Management System's efficacy and reliability. This encompasses strategic development, comprehensive audits, custom training, diligent maintenance, and proactive troubleshooting, thereby facilitating continuous improvement of our HSEQ Management System. The position is for full time and permanent employment working 40 hours Monday to Friday per week. The successful applicant will earn $85,000 per annum. Technical Assistance: • Test, debug, diagnose and correct errors and faults in applications programming language within established testing protocols, guidelines, and quality standards to ensure programs and applications perform to specification. • Develop and deliver tailored training programs for varied user groups within the company to enhance their proficiency with the HSEQ MS digital platform. • Research, consult, analyse, and evaluate system program needs. Continuous Platform Improvement • Writing and maintaining program code to meet system requirements, system designs and technical specifications in accordance with quality accredited standards. • Coordinate with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and in-house development teams to refine existing features and develop new functionalities in line with user-driven demand. • Oversee the change management process for platform updates, ensuring that users are informed, trained, and supported through any transition to new or updated features. Reporting • Evaluate HSEQ management system effectiveness according to the HSEQMS Manual and prepare comprehensive Management Review documentation for the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors. • Coordinate quarterly reporting on HSEQMS objectives, gathering input from relevant stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive overview. Investigation: • Conduct in-depth analyses of incidents using data and insights gathered from the HSEQ MS digital platform to support investigation efforts. • Provide expert insights derived from the platform's analytics to aid in uncovering the underlying causes of incidents and to identify trends that may indicate systemic issues or areas for risk reduction. • Leverage technical expertise to ensure the digital platform captures all relevant information for an effective investigation, including time stamps, user actions, and change logs. Auditing • Participate as a member of an audit team in conducting audits and inspections to evaluate HSEQMS compliance and identify areas for improvement across the Thermosash Group. • Prepare detailed audit reports that document findings, assess the effectiveness of existing controls, and recommend improvements. Ensure timely communication of audit results to management and relevant stakeholders. The successful applicant will have 2-3 years’ experience as a software support technician with a proven track record of troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support and a Level 5-6 qualification in software systems. Experience as a quality and safety occurrence investigator /internal audit training would be useful. The applicant must have NZ residency/citizenship or a valid NZ work visa.
