Waimakariri District is one of the fastest growing Districts in New Zealand and the fourth largest, by population, in the South Island. This brings with it abundant challenges across a diverse range of areas. The Council is seeking up to two Summer Intern Engineers to work within the Project Delivery Unit, based in Rangiora. The Project Delivery Unit provides asset management and engineering planning, design, delivery and development consultancy services to the Utilities and Roading Department and the wider Council. This is a fantastic opportunity for engineering based students to gain professional experience in a supportive environment. This is a fixed term position over the 2024/25 summer holidays, where you will be responsible for assisting with 3 Waters and Civil projects including field work, data collection, reporting, and engineering design. We currently have some exciting projects underway in water, wastewater, drainage and roading infrastructure, where your skills can be applied.
