We’re excited to offer 5 Unpaid Work Experience Opportunities within our Corporate IT team — ideal for students and early‑career professionals looking to gain real‑world experience, build confidence, and learn directly from industry experts.

Group Technology sits at the heart of Datacom. We support and oversee a wide range of centralised technology functions, ensuring our people, systems, and projects run smoothly across the organisation.

About the role

We have each opportunity is unique, providing exposure to different technical areas. As we move through the recruitment process, we’ll match you to the opportunity that best aligns with your interests, strengths, and development goals — and we’ll share more detail about what you’ll learn and the types of tasks you may take on.

Placement Areas

• Profile 1: React, Azure, Cloud engineering
• Profile 2: DevOps, GitHub, Terraform
• Profile 3: AI, Agentic AI, emerging technologies
• Profile 4: Technical documentation, business functions, data
• Profile 5: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Automate

What we're looking for

• Available to work at least 1 day per week over the 10 week programme
• Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn.
• Enthusiasm and a great attitude
• Self-Learners, people passionate about Learning
• Team player, able to collaborate in a team
• Good communicator

About our Early Careers Programme

This is a short-term placement, however if you join Datacom permanently as an Early Career, you'll join our Early Careers Programme. The Early Careers Team will be part of your journey for the first 12 months of your career. Supporting you through Induction, mentoring, events and regularly offering you extra resources and opportunities to help grow your career and connect you with your wider peer group all while you embed in your new permanent role.
