Why Mint Innovation     

At Mint Innovation, we pioneer clean technologies that recover valuable metals from complex waste streams to help restore our planet. Our proprietary low-carbon, technology recovers critical and valuable metals from printed circuit boards in electronic waste and returns them to local economies and supply chains. This technology has been commercialised in Australia, and we are now building our second facility in the United States. Our mission is to deploy a network of facilities around the world to tackle e-waste where it's produced and supply circular green metals to help support future industries. As we gear up for global impact, we are looking for a driven and passionate Commercial Intern to join our team to help in achieving our ambitious goals.    

The Role 

Mint is seeking a Commercial Intern to support the next phase of Mint Innovation’s product and market development strategy.  You will identify and evaluate future development pathways for Mint’s technology advancement, and positioning in the United States.

The role will focus on market research and strategic analysis to evaluate commercial opportunities, policy, and regulatory conditions across potential locations. You will support market entry (including location selection), strategic partnerships, and government engagement.at federal and state level, supporting Mint’s efforts to improve the U.S. policy environment.   

This is a paid, full-time, fixed term internship, and will be located at our HQ in Mt Wellington, Auckland. The internship will start in mid-November, ideally looking for a start date of 18th November. 

This internship is an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic, curious, and driven student to get hands-on experience with our brilliant teams, making real impact across the business and within the technology sector.  The successful candidate, ideally in their final year of a business or commerce degree, will gain meaningful exposure to R&D-driven decision-making, in a science and engineering-led business. 

To be eligible for this internship, you must: 

• Be studying, or have recently completed, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or qualification at NZQA level 6 -10. If study has been completed, the closing date of your final semester should be less than 12 months ago. 

• Be studying or have recently completed science, technology, engineering, design or business at a New Zealand tertiary education institute. 

• Legally permitted to work in New Zealand. 

• Not previously employed by Mint Innovation, unless in a part-time or temporary role. 

• Not undertaken more than two Experience Grant internships with Mint Innovation.
