2025- 2026 Projects

Chaos Engineering

With any distribution system, failures and outages should be incorporated into the system design to make the fabric robust and resilient.  This project aims to build a framework to trigger arbitrary failure modes (“chaos”) within an EndaceFabric and instrument or verify the outcome and implement a few chaos mechanisms and demonstrate the functionality of the projects to potentially enable us to find issues earlier in a release.

Candidates for this project should have:

•       Able to create applications written in Python and interact with Python libraries

•       Familiarity developing for Linux based environments; including interacting with command line applications

•       Understanding of basic computer networking and common networking protocols

•       Understanding of HTTP based APIs with the ability to write code and consume them

•       Basic skills using Git version control.

OSm Process Monitor

This project aims to create a tool to track processes that use CPUs to help optimise system profiles, analyse process activity and how we assign Realtime Priorities to threads in CPD or other processes in Osm, especially under heavy load.

Candidates for this project should have:

•       Good understanding developing in a Linux environment

•       Experience with C, Python

•       Familiarity with Git

•       Basic understanding of operating systems and process management is desirable.

IM Load Testing

We have automated load testing for a single probe but we do not have a way to load test an IM. This project would extend the existing multi-user load testing to the IM using a Fabric while making some improvements to the code. The main aim of this project is to monitor the Fabric under load and look for errors. Further, collect SNMP metrics at timely intervals to generate an easily readable report that would indicate if the IM is behaving better/worse than the previous release under similar circumstances.

Candidates for this project should have:

•       Ability to read and comprehend existing codebases

•       Experience with Linux, Web technologies

•       Experience with Python and Docker

•       Knowledge of SNMP and Robot Framework is desirable but not required

•       Basic skills using Git version control.

Cloud Packet Capture Performance

This project aims to improve packet capture performance for Endace virtual appliances in public and private cloud environments by leveraging the Linux Express Data Path feature.  All major Cloud provider and virtualisation drivers have support for XDP (Amazon, Azure, Google, Oracle, VMware, KVM virtio). Usage of this technology can improve performance and lower overhead of capturing real traffic in Cloud and virtualised environments.

Candidates for this project should have:

·       Familiarity with Linux shell commands

·       Experience with C, Python

·       Familiarity with networking and networking protocols

·       Familiarity with Cloud or virtualisation environments desirable

·       Basic skills using Git version control desirable.

  • Become a sought after graduate with hands on experience from a global organisation
  • Dedicated mentor support
  • Free Friday lunches!
  • Learn from our talented team, perhaps while using the pool table or our barista level coffee machine
