Who are we?
Mint Innovation's vision is to be the world's leading clean technology pioneer producing circular green metals to help restore the planet. Our proprietary low-carbon technology transforms waste into value by recovering critical and valuable metals from electronic waste, such as printed circuit boards
Mint’s technology is deployed in city-scale biorefineries designed to fit into existing urban infrastructure to process waste locally where it's produced. We've successfully commercialised the world’s first PCB biorefinery in Sydney, Australia, returning 800 tonnes of copper and 450kg of gold to the Australian economy each year. Our goal is to build a constellation of biorefineries around the world recovering critical minerals from waste and returning them into circulation to power local supply chains.
Why apply?
As a company that was born in a dingy basement, everyone at Mint has a “can do, no fuss” attitude. Mint is seeking two enthusiastic engineering students (mechanical / chemical), ideally finishing their penultimate or final year of undergraduate studies. You will support our engineering team here in Auckland working on the design and build of Mint's next commercial plant and assist in the design and build of new pilot plant units.
You will assist with plant design and specification, update technical drawings, develop process and functional descriptions, consult with equipment vendors and support commissioning and as-built documentation. In addition, you will have an opportunity to contribute to the design and build of pilot plant modular units that will inform us of our next new technologies for commercialisation working in close collaboration with our R&D team. This is an exciting time for Mint as we embark on our next chapter of growth, and we are eager to share a part of this journey with like-minded engineering students.
To be eligible for these internships, you must:
These paid internships are an amazing opportunity for enthusiastic, curious and driven students to work alongside a supportive and welcoming team, on a full-time basis ($27.8 per hour + 8% PAYG + 3% KiwiSaver, 40 hours a week, for 10 weeks). Ideally, we are looking at a start date between November - December 2024. Internships must be completed by 31 March 2025.
