Why Mint Innovation
At Mint Innovation, we pioneer clean technologies that recover valuable metals from complex waste streams to help restore our planet. Our proprietary low-carbon, technology recovers critical and valuable metals from printed circuit boards in electronic waste and returns them to local economies and supply chains. This technology has been commercialised in Australia, and we are now building our second facility in the United States. Our mission is to deploy a network of facilities around the world to tackle e-waste where it's produced and supply circular green metals to help support future industries. As we gear up for global impact, we are looking for a driven and passionate Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team to help in achieving our ambitious goals.
The Role
As a company that was born in a dingy basement, everyone at Mint has a “can-do, no fuss” attitude. Mint is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our engineering team here in Auckland, working on the design and build of Mint's next commercial facility in Texas.
You will assist in the design and procurement of processing plant equipment, which includes, but is not limited to
compiling equipment procurement packages (typically inclusive of datasheets, technical specifications, and more), consulting with equipment vendors, carrying out technical bid evaluations, completing equipment sizing calculations, and other plant design activities, whilst liaising with Mint’s Process Engineering, EC&I, Drafting and R&D teams. This is an exciting time for Mint as we embark on our next chapter of growth, and we are eager to share a part of this journey with like-minded engineering students.
This is a paid, full-time, fixed term internship, and will be located at our HQ in Mt Wellington, Auckland. The internships will start in mid November, ideally looking for a start date of 18 November.
These internships are an amazing opportunity for enthusiastic, curious and driven students to get hands-on experience with our brilliant teams, making real impact.
To be eligible for these internships, you must:
