At Mint Innovation, we pioneer clean technologies that recover valuable metals from complex waste streams to help restore our planet. Our proprietary low-carbon, technology recovers critical and valuable metals from printed circuit boards in electronic waste and returns them to local economies and supply chains. This technology has been commercialised in Australia, and we are now building our second facility in the United States. Our mission is to deploy a network of facilities around the world to tackle e-waste where it's produced and supply circular green metals to help support future industries. As we gear up for global impact, we are looking for a driven and passionate Technology Enablement Intern to join our team to help in achieving our ambitious goals.    

The Role 

Mint is seeking a driven Technology Enablement Intern to contribute to various R&D and business operation projects focused on developing AI-driven business tools and automation systems to support Mint’s global growth. As we expand our decentralised biorefinery operations into international markets, including the US, UK, and Australia, we require novel digital solutions as we scale.  

You will work closely within our business, taking a hands-on approach to experimenting, testing, and refining potential solutions that could benefit our business operations and research and development.  

The project involves technical and technological uncertainty, such as evaluating whether AI-enabled tools can operate securely across regions with varying privacy laws and system maturity, and whether they align with data integrity and compliance requirements. You will explore these challenges through hands-on experimentation and iterative development, contributing directly to the design of solutions that integrate with Mint’s existing tech stack.   

This is a paid, full-time, fixed term internship, and will be located at our HQ in Mt Wellington, Auckland. The internship will start in mid-November, ideally looking for a start date of 18 November.  

This internship
is an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic, curious and driven student to get hands-on experience with our brilliant teams, making a real impact. The successful candidate will apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, gaining experience in technology enablement, systems integration, business process automation, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will be studying a degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology.   

To be eligible for this internship, you must: 

• Be studying, or have recently completed, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or qualification at NZQA level 6 -10. If study has been completed, the closing date of your final semester should be less than 12 months ago. 

• Be studying science, technology, engineering, design or business at a New Zealand tertiary education institute. 

• Be legally permitted to work in New Zealand. 

• Not have been previously employed by Mint Innovation unless in a part-time or temporary role. 

• Not have undertaken more than two Experience Grant internships with Mint Innovation.
