Awanui Labs - Balclutha (previously known as SCL) provides high quality diagnostic pathology services to the community, healthcare professionals and their patients. Awanui labs - Balclutha is owned by Awanui Group (Previously known as Asia Pacific Healthcare Group), a healthcare company committed to providing facilities and services that deliver exceptional care to its clients.
Our Patient Services Department is responsible for the collection of blood samples and handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, urine, tissue etc from patients within the community and the hospital. These samples are then processed and tested in our state-of-the-art medical laboratory.

Our Patient Services Department is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee to join our team at our Auckland or Balclutha lab. This permanent, part-time role (30 hours per fortnight) offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional, supportive environment.
You’ll have the chance to develop your skills, learn from an experienced team, and play a key role in supporting patient care and laboratory services. This is a rewarding position for someone eager to grow, make a meaningful contribution, and be part of a dynamic healthcare team.

If you are not already registered with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand, we will support you working towards becoming a Qualified Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician within 2 years of employment.
