Who we are
English Language Partners New Zealand (ELPNZ) is an award-winning education provider with NZQA Category 1 endorsement. We are New Zealand’s largest national not-for-profit provider of English language education and support to former refugees and migrants and have been operating for over 40 years.
We have 21 centres from Whangarei to Invercargill, where over 350 staff and 800 volunteers support around 8,000 learners a year. Our National Office is based in a great office space on The Terrace in Wellington.
About the role
The newly created position of IT Support Advisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Manager to maintain and operate our ICT processes, security, and systems. As the primary help desk contact, you'll handle daily systems administration, user access, and oversee security measures and backups.
Effective communication is key, as you'll provide user support and deliver training to induct new users and enhance overall organisational capabilities in our IT Systems. The role also demands innovation, with a focus on automating processes using tools like Power Automate.
Ideal for those early in their career or seeking autonomy in a purpose-driven organisation, this part-time role in our Wellington office offers 25-28 hours per week.
Who you are
A qualification in ICT and/or degree qualification within a discipline with IT/Computer Science/Business systems.
1-2 years experience in helpdesk/IT support administration roles.
Highly competent IT user, who is skilled in the use of MS Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint (essential), Teams (highly desirable), Circle/Slack (desirable) and picks up new technology easily.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), user and group access to systems.
Good knowledge of system security, and best and emerging security practices.
Strong communicator, with the ability to explain complex ICT matters to non- IT folk and break things down into practical steps.
Patience, a can-do attitude flexibility and a sense of humour are also key.
