Oranga Niho is part of the Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga organisation. Oranga Niho is our Foundation accredited Dental service that delivers quality, evidence-based services to our 1500 enrolled patients. We operate a mixed model with a focus on high needs funded care.
Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a whānau-focused, Iwi mandated, kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation. We have been supporting our whānau me hapori to achieve their aspirations and general wellbeing for more than 38 years. Underpinning our success as an organisation are our values Kotahitanga, Whakamana, Kaitiakitanga and Whānaungataunga, which are woven through everything we do.
Reporting to the Dental Team Lead, the purpose of the role is to ensure the whānau who visit Oranga Niho feel welcome, supported and informed about the To Waha pathway
Key duties include:
· Greeting whānau at initial appointments and answering any questions
· Provide navigation support through the To Waha pathway
· Enter enrolments and contact referrals
· Book appointments and follow up any FTAs
· Assist whānau with paperwork and provide approved oral health information
· Support whānau with transport to appointments and care of children in clinic if required
This is a great opportunity to work alongside experienced Health Professionals in a supportive, caring team environment. This is a part-time role – 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
Ideal candidates will have:
· a warm, welcoming personality with great people skills
· previous medical or dental administration or similar experience, ideally in Indici or similar system
· professionalism in all aspects of mahi from personal presentation to practice
· high standards of client privacy and confidentiality
· an understanding of tikanga Māori or willingness to learn
· a current, Full Driver’s License
· Vaccinated for COVID 19 (2 shots)
